Folks, we’re just six days from the midterm elections. We need to be clear about what’s on the ballot this year because there’s a heck of a lot at stake.
Gun safety is on the ballot. Social Security and Medicare are on the ballot. The survival of our planet and democracy itself are on the ballot.

Let’s take a look at what Republican Kevin McCarthy said: He said Republicans want to
“preserve our constitutional freedoms.” That sounds great. I’m for doing that as well. But look at what they’ve actually done.
The MAGA Republicans cheered for the Supreme Court’s decision to take away the constitutional right to choose. And now, nearly half the states in the United States of America have either enacted a ban on abortion or are expected to shortly. In many states, abortion is already banned even in cases of rape and incest.
Leader Kevin McCarthy talked about wanting a nation that’s safe. Well, let’s look at what Republicans have done to make it safe. They voted against virtually everything we’ve done to reduce crime and keep communities safe.
The American Rescue Plan delivered resources to local leaders to keep their schools, hospitals, and fire and police departments open. And guess what? Every single Republican in Congress voted against it.
Next week, you have to choose. Will we be a nation of hope and unity and optimism? Or a nation of fear and division and darkness?
