I just left Wisconsin where I was stumping for Mandela Barnes and Democrats up and down the ticket, and I’m reaching out today ask you to split a donation between Mandela’s campaign and my campaign. But before I ask, I want to explain exactly why your support is so important.

This is the race that keeps the Senate majority out of Mitch McConnell’s hands. It’s our best bet at guaranteeing that there is a Democratic majority when the votes are counted on Election Day.

And just yesterday, we got a new poll from Wisconsin that shows Mandela up by two on Ron Johnson. That’s great news, but it’s still too close for comfort. That poll still puts this race very much within the margin of error.

And we’ve seen the impact McConnell’s super PACs can have on this race. Republicans have bombarded him with $46 million in attack ads — a lot of them false and race-baiting garbage.

Mandela is fighting as hard as he can to beat back those attacks. He has managed to close the spending gap, but he still needs to up his ad buy for the final days. That’s why your contribution is so important.

Can you chip in whatever you can spare right now to Mandela Barnes and my campaign? This is important. Our democracy is on the line right now, and it’s no time to take anything for granted.

I can tell you firsthand that the ground game there is just different than it was in 2016. Wisconsin Democrats have put a ton into their organizing efforts, and it’s paying off in big ways.

Under Scott Walker, democracy was nearly extinguished in Wisconsin, but thanks to grassroots support, we defeated him in 2018.

But it’s all on the line again in a few days, and we need to put as much time and as many resources as possible into Mandela’s race right now. Every donation to Mandela will help us hold not just the Senate majority but also help Democrats up and down the ballot get across the finish line — from school boards, to state house races, to Governor Evers’ re-election.
