Trump believes that if he can install his loyal lapdogs as secretary of state—the office that oversees vote counting and certifies election results—he will have the power to install himself as president in 2024, no matter the true vote count.

Dear MoveOn member,

Politico describes Republican Jim Marchant this way: "Even by the standards of election conspiracy theorists, Marchant has adopted extreme policy positions."1

Marchant is running for secretary of state in the battleground state of Nevada, where he'd be the state's top election official. In his words, he's running to "control the election system."2

And it's not just Nevada. Marchant is the "ringleader" of election deniers across the country who are running for secretary of state, including Mark Finchem in Arizona and Kristina Karamo in Michigan (while there are others, these three are the most dangerous). They call themselves the "America First Secretary of State Coalition."3

They are running for one reason: to install Donald Trump in the White House in 2024, no matter the will of the voters. And all three races are absolutely down to the wire.4

That's why we're asking you one final time, John: Will you chip in $3 to the campaigns of the courageous Democratic candidates who are running to stop these election deniers from taking over our elections? 100% of your donation will go to their campaigns.

Today marks the last day of MoveOn’s unprecedented fundraising campaign for Democratic secretary of state candidates taking on MAGA election deniers.

MoveOn had never done anything like this in its 24-year history. But earlier this year, we launched our powerful, multimillion-dollar effort to defeat Trump-backed election deniers running to control our elections, because our democracy quite literally depends on it.

If you have given before, we thank you deeply and ask you to dig deep one last time to stop Trump's slow-motion coup.

If you have been waiting to chip in to help save our democracy this election cycle, today is your last chance to do so.

Click here to donate $3 directly to Democrats Adrian Fontes in Arizona, Cisco Aguilar in Nevada, and Jocelyn Benson in Michigan, who are running for secretary of state against MAGA Republican election deniers in extremely tight races.

John, before this election cycle, Donald Trump had never endorsed a candidate for secretary of state.

But this year, he endorsed loyalists for the position in the battleground states that are expected to determine the winner of the 2024 election.

Trump believes that if he can install his loyal lapdogs as secretary of state—the office that oversees vote counting and certifies election results—he will have the power to install himself as president in 2024, no matter the true vote count.

Trump stated outright, "There's a famous statement: 'Sometimes the vote counter is more important than the candidate.'"5

The Washington Post describes the risk this way: "More than any other category of elected official, secretaries of state could be instrumental in overturning the popular vote in their state—an unprecedented move in American history—or take other actions that throw results into question."6

In each one of these battleground states, the race is neck and neck.7 And today marks our final opportunity to propel Democrats to victory and stop the election deniers.

Will you make a $3 contribution today to help stop Trump's plot to install his lackeys as elections officials and to safeguard our constitutional democracy? It is your last opportunity, and 100% of your gift goes directly to the Democratic candidates for secretary of state in Arizona, Nevada, and Michigan.

Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn's work? Donald Trump and his MAGA allies are methodically enacting a plan to place some of Trump's most ardent supporters in key election offices that oversee vote counting, have the power to certify—or decertify—election results, and declare election winners and losers. We've launched a powerful, multimillion-dollar campaign to stop Trump. But we need your help to power our effort.

Will you chip in to power our campaign to defeat Trump cronies this November and elect officials who will count each and every vote?
