Dear John:
With a new year and a new decade right around the corner, we think this is a good time to think about new beginnings. In 2020, the Coalition on Human Needs is poised to redouble our advocacy for low-income people and communities. But we recognize we can’t do it alone.
That’s where you come in – please consider a contribution to help the Coalition do its work.
Why? If there were ever a time when the human needs community must come together, it is now. You know all the bad news – cuts threatened or made to services like health care, food and housing assistance, help for people with disabilities, education and job training. The Trump Administration’s continuing separation of immigrant children from their families has wounded them and shamed our nation. Tax cuts for the rich, if unchanged, will starve the government of revenue for decades to come and widen the gap between rich and poor. Every week, it seems, there’s a new attack.
We know we need to work together. The Coalition on Human Needs has played a critical part in helping tens of thousands of people to speak out against these threats. We have also brought teams of advocates to Capitol Hill to fight successfully for more funds for human needs programs. But we must do more.
In the coming year, we will continue to fight the onslaught of anti-human needs proposals, but we must also lift up the ways our nation can better meet human needs. This is our fight. We are grateful that it is yours too. With your help, we can win some important battles, help low-income and vulnerable people, and make ours a more just society.
Your tax-deductible contribution will make a big difference to CHN. Help us to reach more and more people so they know what’s at stake and when to take action. You can donate online here or by mail, to Coalition on Human Needs, 1825 K Street, NW, Suite 411, Washington, DC 20006.
Best wishes for a happy holiday season. Let’s work together to usher in a new decade of renewed opportunity and shared prosperity.
Gratefully,
Deborah Weinstein
