It was November 3, 2020. All votes were cast in Iowa’s 2nd District, and the race was in a dead heat.
The election headed to a recount.
On November 30, the recount was finished, and the Iowa Board of Canvass certified its results.
Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks won with six votes — by a count of 196,964 to 196,958.
Just six votes stood between Rep. Miller-Meeks winning and losing. That’s how close these elections can be. Every vote matters. That’s why it’s so important to fund final get-out-the-vote efforts.
It’s why support from people like you has been and continues to be instrumental to Republican victories.
With just 6 days left until Election Day, I’m asking you to step up with a donation of $6 or more to help Republicans fund the final stretch of their campaigns.
These final moments of the campaign are the most critical. Republicans need your help.
My very best,
