Folks: I just wrapped up a phone call with Don, my campaign manager, and he let me know that Congressional Leadership Fund, a Republican-affiliated super PAC, just spent $1.8 MILLION on TV ads here in IL-06 to help my opponent flip this seat. And just last week, a billionaire-funded far-right super PAC dropped $50,000 on mailers and TV ads.

In response we decided to authorize an expanded TV ad budget. But the extra money isn’t in our budget right now, so I also gave the go-ahead and told Don to raise our pre-election fundraising goal to $100,000. It’s a risky decision, but the bigger risk, of course, would be to do nothing. 

All of this massive GOP spending is clearly making an impact: just in the past two weeks, Cook Political Report, FiveThirtyEight, and Politico have all shifted their race ratings to the right in favor of my opponent. This district is now among the most competitive House districts in the nation.

The MAGA goons behind these right-wing super PACs are trying to decide the outcome of this election instead of you, so we need to directly respond to their misinformation on the airwaves before this spirals out of control.
