Voting is the most fundamental form of civic engagement, and your vote has more power than you may realize to affect the systemic policy change we need to end the gun violence epidemic in Pennsylvania. Don’t let your power go to waste – make a plan to vote today.
For the past eight years, we’ve been fortunate to have a gun safety Governor who helped enact lifesaving reforms like Act 79 to disarm domestic abusers, made historic investments in community violence prevention, and vetoed countless attempts by extremist legislators to undermine our gun laws. But that’s all at risk if we don’t elect gun safety champions Josh Shapiro for Governor and Austin Davis for Lt. Governor.
We know the vast majority of Pennsylvanians support lifesaving action on gun violence; the problem is that too many don’t make their voices heard. Planning ahead is key to making sure your ballot is cast, and making sure our Commonwealth’s leaders reflect the will of the people.
There are many ways to exercise your powerful vote this year: early in-person, by mail, or in-person on Election Day. I know that life is busy – work, errands, organizing playdates, taking care of loved ones. But voting is easy and secure, and there are clear choices between the candidates who support gun safety and those who not only oppose lifesaving policies, but are actually working to weaken our gun laws (FYI we only endorsed in key competitive races to strategically focus our resources, so if you don’t see a candidate here, they may still support gun violence prevention, and you should check their website).
Friend, I hope you’ll join me and thousands of other CeaseFirePA supporters in making a plan to vote. By pooling our power behind the right candidates, we can get that much closer to realizing our vision: a life free from gun violence.
Sincerely,
Adam Garber
