Dear Parents, High Schoolers, and Friends,

As a parent and grandparent myself, I know the importance of a quality, affordable education. That is why I am excited to share with you an opportunity for our high schoolers to earn a free, world-class education at one of our nation’s military academies. Given their excellent reputations, I am certain you are already familiar with these five names: the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

The opportunity is right in front of us. 

To the students looking for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with their college education, I highly encourage you to apply through my Office, as these schools, except for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, require a Congressional Nomination to attend. To the parents who are searching for a school that will bring the best out of your children and leave you both debt free, consider talking to them about the Service Academies.

Military service academy graduates automatically receive commissions as officers in the U.S. Armed Forces and then have the honor of serving our country for a minimum of five years. These graduates embody the principles of discipline, honor, and teamwork and come away with qualities that undoubtedly set them up for success in both the military and the civilian worlds.
