Election Day Countdown:
John, from laws meant to confuse and suppress voters in Texas and Georgia to forced limitations on vote by mail in Delaware and Wisconsin, you’ve seen the partisan efforts to deny our right to vote. Common Cause is training Election Protection volunteers to stop voter suppression, but we can’t do this without you.
John, I can imagine what your email inbox looks like right now. Tons of emails telling you this midterm election is the most important yet, and asking for your help to elect leaders that will fight for our democracy.
How do you even begin to decide where you should put your time and resources?
Candidates are sending more and more emails, asking for money to afford one more primetime ad before voters hit the polls. Political campaign managers are scrounging up every last cent to propel their candidate forward. But how does that help people like you and me?
The fact is, squeezing in one last ad probably won’t make a measurable, real-life impact. But sponsoring an election protection volunteer today will. Sponsoring a volunteer will give voters in-person, face-to-face assistance as they cast their ballots this year.
You can make all the difference in a first-time or long-time voter’s experience – all through early voting, Election Day, and beyond – by helping us train and place a friendly face at polling locations across the country, helping voters when they need it most.
John, as much as I wish it wasn’t true, voting can be a stressful process – and even worse, that’s often by design.
Many states have made changes meant to confuse and discourage voters. States like Texas and Georgia have enacted severe voter suppression laws. Other states like Delaware and Wisconsin have been forced to limit vote-by-mail – which could lead to longer lines at the polls.
This is a blatant attack on our most fundamental right: the right to vote. Common Cause won’t let that stand, and we’re pushing back by training thousands of Election Protection volunteers. But we’re running out of the resources we need.
Election Protection volunteers play such an important role. Our volunteers are trained by experts in each state’s voting rules – for all 50 states plus D.C.
The result? Voters heading to the polls during early voting and on Election Day are greeted with a friendly, pro-voter face. Our volunteers are trained to help people overcome any obstacles states or election deniers enact and can help dozens of people exercise their right to vote in just a single shift!
There’s no time to waste, John – we’re just 6 DAYS away from Election Day. We’ve already recruited a vast network of Election Protection volunteers across the nation, and we’re running out of time to train them and place them with voters.
Fifty dollars. That’s what it costs to train one election protection volunteer, who will then go on to help countless people cast their votes, free from intimidation, suppression, and confusion at the polls.
Your donation today will have a real, measurable impact on dozens of voters this Election Day. Every dollar you can give will help us train and place one more Election Protection volunteer. We can’t do this without you.
We need to train every last volunteer who signed up this year. Will you rush $50 today and sponsor a volunteer?
Thank you for your support,
