DON'T STOP BELIEVING. And don't believe the polls. The only poll that counts is the one on November 8—and the country's hardest-fought races will be won out here on the ground. Please, chip in today so that we can engage and mobilize the Democratic rural voters we need to turn the numbers around and hold our majorities. Donate $5 right now. [[link removed]]

Dear Friend,

With just 6 days left until Election Day—in a midterm some are characterizing as a fight for the very soul of our democracy—I know there's cause for anxiety. Some of the polls aren't great. Pundits are certainly keeping expectations low in our top-tier races.

As someone who's been in this business awhile, I have some perspective. Just look at this photo taken two weeks before my 2012 U.S. Senate election. See that headline? "Berg up by 10 points." No one was pre-ordering my campaign any champagne either.

Spoiler alert: I won that race.

Granted, it was a squeaker—less than 1%—but I won. Because the truth is, polls are just a snapshot in time. The only poll that counts is the one that happens on Election Day —and what that poll looks like depends entirely on what we are able to accomplish in the next 6 days. Can I count on you to help us reach our $50,000 goal by donating now, so we can ramp up our media and GOTV efforts in these final days? [[link removed]]

Nevada Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto is one candidate who's feeling the heat right now—but I've been where she is. Do you know who else has? Her predecessor, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid! After weeks of bad polling in another tricky midterm year—1998—Sen. Reid eked out a victory and went on to serve two more terms.

We can absolutely re-elect Sen. Cortez Masto and Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock—and elect John Fetterman in Pennsylvania, Tim Ryan in Ohio, and Mandela Barnes in Wisconsin. But we've got to mobilize Democratic rural voters to the ballot box—the same voters who put me over the top in 2012—no matter what any stupid poll says. Help us do that by rushing a contribution of $5 or more to One Country Project now. [[link removed]]

Look, I'm going to be all over the country over the next 6 days, stumping for our awesome Democratic candidates and reminding rural voters what's at stake: Our values. Our freedoms. Our democracy itself. Thanks in advance for helping us reach our goal so that we can engage and turn out the rural voters we'll need to save all three.

Let's do this!

Heidi

P.S. I've been around politics long enough to know that races like mine in 2012—and like the razor-close campaigns being waged around the country right now—are won or lost on the ground , by the candidate who turns out every last Democratic rural voter. Please, help us turbocharge our GOTV efforts in these final days by rushing a contribution of $5 or more to One Country Project now. [[link removed]]
