Hey John, I never saw myself as an activist, until my son Jordan was shot and killed in November 2012 – almost a decade ago. At that moment, everything changed. As a grieving mother, I decided I had to turn my pain into purpose. That journey has taken me all the way to the halls of Congress, where I’ve represented the Atlanta suburbs since 2018. I was elected in a district that was deemed impossible for Democrats to win, running against an incumbent with millions in dark money from corporate PACS and special interests. In Congress, I’ve led the fight for gun safety reform to ensure that no other parent would have to go through what I did. It’s no secret that the upcoming elections are a watershed moment for our country. Beyond gun safety, critical issues such as inflation and abortion rights are on the line.
