From marching with workers demanding fair wages, to holding corporate polluters accountable for the damage they’re doing to our communities, we’ve brought new voices and ideas to the political process in 2019.

Friend,

From marching with workers demanding fair wages, to holding corporate polluters accountable for the damage they’re doing to our communities, we’ve brought new voices and ideas to the political process in 2019.

As the Representative for one of the poorest and most polluted congressional districts in the country, it’s important to me to work every day not only on behalf of my constituents, but in partnership together.

You are a critical part of everything that we’re achieving, whether it’s in the halls of Congress or in our communities. Together, we’re building a movement of working people that represents the future of our country.

Can you chip in to my re-election campaign today to make sure that together, we can keep building the world we need through strong movements for justice in 2020?

  • Here’s just some of what we accomplished together in 2019:

    • Together, we impeached Donald Trump in the House. This historic vote happened because of a growing grassroots movement by and for the American people, who’ve been demanding accountability and a country for all of us, not just the wealthy and powerful few.

    • Together, we raised tens of thousands of dollars for progressive campaigns and nonprofit organizations, including immigrants’ and workers’ rights groups, local food banks, and more.

    • Together, we advanced legislation that puts people first, including bills that will lift people up out of poverty and address injustice. Residents of my district crafted policy with me, in a deeply democratic process rooted in community.

    • Together, we brought Congress, presidential candidates, and Michigan’s Attorney General to Michigan’s 13th district to hear from community leaders who are fighting environmental racism, corporate greed, and entrenched poverty.

    • Our neighborhood service centers helped residents navigate government programs, stopping deportations and returning half a million dollars to the residents of Michigan’s #13thDistrictStrong.

Let’s keep it up in 2020! Please chip in what you can to my re-election campaign today to keep fighting for our families and our communities.

Thank you. I’m so inspired by the courageous people in my district and across the country who make change happen; who wake up every single day and fight for a better future for our kids and grandkids because we know a better future is possible.

That approach has fueled me through many years of pushing back against billionaire bullies—and through this intense year of right-wing attacks on our work and even my life.

From running for Congress to serving in office, I’ve been humbled by and grateful for your unwavering support. It ensures that I stay steadfast for justice. Thank you. You are my squad.

Rashida

P.S. I’m honored to have been included on She the People’s recent 20 for 2020 list, featuring women of color who are shaping 2020’s election and the future of our democracy. None of this could have been possible without your support. I’m looking forward to working with you and many of these leaders in the next year and beyond!
