Friends,

Before I launched my first congressional campaign in 2017, I sought advice from experienced operatives and organizations.

These experts told me to take out my cell phone and see how many hundreds of thousands of dollars I could raise from my list of contacts.

I told them if I was lucky, I might be able to raise $15,000 from the people in my phone.

They told me I couldn't run for office.

Since when do we have an admission fee to participate in our democracy?

But that is our current system, and we have to change it.

Our politics should not be driven and governed by money. It should be about hearing the voices of the people and ensuring the participation of everybody in our system.

That's why I never have and never will accept corporate PAC money.

That's why I support reforms that will bring us campaigns that are people-powered, not big-money-powered.

That's why I'm counting on grassroots supporters like you to fuel our campaign now and meet our critical end-of-year goal.

Because when lots of people do their part, I know that we can achieve great things.

Thank you for all that you do,

Dana
