John, a lot of people assume many California congressional seats are safe Democrat seats. But Orange County has long been considered Republican territory, and I first flipped my seat blue in 2018.
In 2020, two Orange County incumbent Democrats lost to Republicans. And because of redistricting, much of the district I’m now running in voted to replace the Democrat incumbent with a Republican. Nearly 70% of my voters live in the area that a Republican won in 2020. [[link removed]]
My district includes deep red strongholds like Huntington Beach. And even in areas where President Biden won by a strong margin, we’re seeing an unfortunate shift. Republicans are polling well across the country, and we’re seeing especially concerning trends in blue states like California. [[link removed]]
Kevin McCarthy even predicted that Republicans could take the House majority just by winning a few seats (like mine) in California.
We cannot allow this to happen and let them take away our rights and erase our progress. If they control Congress and the White House–as they did as recently as 2018– they have promised in no uncertain terms that they will criminalize abortion nationwide –-even here in California. [[link removed]]
Winning here in purple Orange County is essential to holding the House majority. If you can, consider splitting a donation between my campaign and the California Democratic Party. [[link removed]] With 7 days to go so much is on the line.
