Friends,
It’s confirmed. AIPAC will now spend over $1 million in Pennsylvania to defeat the Democratic candidate in a historically blue House seat and support an anti-choice Republican. That’s well over ten times more than initial reports indicated.
This is a race that could help decide whether Congress keeps a pro-democracy majority, or comes under control of pro-Trump leaders who voted with insurrectionists on January 6.
J Street supporters in Pittsburgh are rallying around our endorsee Summer Lee amid the onslaught of attacks. This latest news only motivates us further as we fight to protect our democratic freedoms.
Across the country, pro-democracy campaigns are seeking volunteers both in person and virtually to help knock on doors, text and call voters, chase mail-in ballots and ensure people know where to vote.

Summer Lee is a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh and an experienced state legislator who has spent her life fighting for a better deal for working families. We know she’ll be a champion for democratic rights and freedoms both at home and abroad.
In her conversations with our local chapter, Lee told us she believes that the US “must support democracy and human rights in Israel and in Palestine and commitments that lead to long-term stability between the two peoples, so that all may live with independence, sovereignty, and dignity.”
What AIPAC is doing is Orwellian in the truest sense.
They’ve called their Super PAC the “United Democracy Project,” taken money from Republican mega-donors, spent it exclusively to defeat Democratic candidates, and now they’re threatening to help hand the House majority to anti-democratic extremists -- all while claiming it’s somehow good for Israel and our “shared democratic values.” Their actions could not be more radically out of step with Jewish Americans.
But together, we represent the overwhelming majority in our community. And together, we’re going to rally to protect our freedoms and defend our democracy this November.
