Greetings John! The Campaign for Housing & Community Development Funding, of which Grounded Solutions Network is a member, is sending a letter to Congressional leaders immediately after the elections urging them to allocate the maximum resources possible for affordable housing and community development in the FY23 budget. Just over 1,800 organizations have signed on, and we ask you to sign-on your organization now so we can hit 2,000 endorsers. This will signal that there is a critical mass of constituents united around the need to address the affordable housing crisis across the nation. Adding your voice will help shape FY23 federal funding decisions. The continuing resolution passed by Congress at the end of September funds the government at FY22 levels through December 16. The House passed a package of six appropriations bills for FY23 on July 20th, and Chairman Leahy of the Senate Appropriations committee released all twelve appropriation bills on August 1st. However, Congress has work to do in order to reach bipartisan agreement after the elections, which is needed to pass an omnibus bill. Where we live matters. We bring together an extensive network of partners and member practitioners from local communities who have a deep understanding of best practices in community land trusts, shared equity housing, local housing policies such as inclusionary zoning, and more. |
