  • We’ve announced the winners of our cause exploration prizes! We received over 150 good-faith submissions, all of which received prizes of at least $200. The top prize of $25,000 went to Ben Stewart for Organophosphate pesticides and other neurotoxicants. Three other submissions won second-place prizes of $15,000.

  • Eli Rose wrote an update on the work of Open Philanthropy’s Effective Altruism Community Growth team.

  • We published the 2022 cohort of the Open Philanthropy Century Fellowship. The Century Fellowship is a two-year program that supports promising and ambitious early-career individuals who want to work on challenges the world may face this century that could have a lasting and significant impact on the long-term future.

  • Time Magazine published a cover story on the effective altruism movement, including OP’s role. Vox also published a profile of the movement.

  • Senior research analyst Ajeya Cotra was named one of Vox’s “Future Perfect 50” in recognition of her work on forecasting when transformative artificial intelligence might arrive.
