John, I've encountered my fair share of out-of-touch politicians. You know, the ones who are more concerned with their title than taking care of their people.
My parents came from Guatemala. We worried about whether we could go to the doctor, where we were going to go to school, and my parents worried about whether or not they could retire when it was their time.
I'm rooted because I know my community – I've lived our struggles. But most importantly, I've taken the time to listen to residents, hear about the issues they experience straight from them.
I'm also ready, John – so ready to fight for our communities. Before I was elected to the Illinois House, I regularly worked in my church's soup kitchen. I was connecting people to benefits and resources they had never heard of before.
And this didn't stop when I got to the IL House. I worked on expanding Medicaid access, establishing an elected school board for Chicago Public Schools, and raising millions of dollars toward affordable housing.
John, making it to Congress isn't going to be easy. With only a week until the election, I'm fighting HARD to represent you. But I can't do it alone. Will you donate any amount you can to support me and my campaign?
