Let's Talk IG Live Series - Friday, November 4th

The long-awaited month has arrived! The elections are just around the corner and with that, we will end our first IG Live Series talking about what to expect for the General Election.

This series is presented entirely in Spanish, integrating a language justice approach to provide first-hand information to the Latinx community.

Join us on IG Live on Friday, November 4, starting at 12 PM for a robust conversation. The main theme is "Election Day", where we will be reinforcing the importance of voting and how it can affect our communities for years to come.

Community Conversation: The VDOE Model Policies and What’s Next - Wednesday, November 9th

The VDOE announced recently that the effective date for the new policies has been delayed 30 days until November 26th to allow for the department to review the comments.

You may be wondering - now what? With the public comment period closing, the fight now moves to the local level.

We have a robust plan of action for our upcoming school board work, and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you. Please join us on Wednesday, November 9th at 6:00 PM for our webinar “Community Conversation: The VDOE Model Policies and What’s Next” to learn more about our next steps, get your questions answered, and participate in the launch of our 2022-2023 school board campaign. RSVP using the button below!

Miller Lite’s Open and Proud Town Hall - Thursday, November 17th

Join Equality Virginia and Miller Lite at Babes of Carytown on Thursday, November 17 from 5:30-6:30 PM for a community-led conversation, as a part of Miller Lite’s Open and Proud series in partnership with EV. You will hear from a panel of local advocates discussing ways to help make bars more inclusive to ALL intersectional members of the LGBTQ+ community.

During this conversation, you'll have an opportunity to share your own experiences and thoughts on how bars can become more welcoming and accepting to everyone in our community. Seating is first come first serve, so RSVP today!

Take the US Trans Survey by Monday, November 21st!

The U.S. Trans Survey (USTS) is the largest community-led survey of trans and nonbinary people in the United States. The USTS documents the lives and experiences of trans people in the U.S. and U.S. territories. In short:

  • The USTS is for all trans people age 16 and up.
  • The USTS is for people of all trans identities,  including binary and nonbinary trans identities.
  • USTS reports have been a vital resource, including the reports on the experiences of people of color and reports by state.
  • In 2015, nearly 28,000 people took the USTS, making it the largest survey of trans people in the U.S. A lot has happened since then – and it’s time to conduct the USTS again in 2022.

Giving Tuesday - Tuesday, November 29th

Save the date! On Tuesday, November 29th EV will kick off our End-of-Year Campaign with GivingTuesday, a global day of radical generosity. Not only will your gift help us end the year on a high note, but it will also ensure we start 2023 off strong. We know that we will be facing more hurdles in the coming year, so mark your calendar, and plan to give this GivingTuesday!

P.S. We couldn’t do this work alone, so please consider donating to our incredible community partners in change on GivingTuesday.
