I remember Oct. 23, 2016, like it was yesterday. Mitch McConnell and his allies were spending $50 million to defeat me in my first run for the Senate. Polling had me down, and election pundits and forecasters were counting me out. Then, Barack Obama joined me on the campaign trail.
I went on to win by 2 points to become our nation’s first Latina senator.
Now, here we are again – except this time around, my race in Nevada will determine Senate control: Democrats cannot hold the chamber if I lose. It’s why Mitch McConnell and his allies are spending even more this time (upwards of $55 million) to flip this seat and take back the Senate.
And today, as I write to you, The New York Times is reporting our grassroots fundraising has slowed, brand-new poll shows me tied – 47 to 47, and McConnell’s super PAC is bombarding the airwaves with a new slate of attack ads. So you better believe I consider this a lifeline:

President Obama’s rally to keep this seat blue comes on the heels of every last extremist Republican rallying with my opponent to defeat me: Ted Cruz, Ron DeSantis, Donald Trump Jr., Sean Hannity, Donald Trump – they’ve been crisscrossing this state to flip it red and take back Senate control.

Just like in 2016, I know tonight will be a turning point – but it doesn’t just hinge on President Obama being with us. It hinges on grassroots donors like you fighting side by side with us, by chipping in whatever you can to protect this seat and Democratic Senate control.
