Keith is the first African American elected to statewide office in Minnesota and the first Muslim in the U.S. to win statewide office. Since being elected in 2018, Keith has worked hard to ensure that Minnesotans live with dignity, safety, and respect. He has fought to lower pharmaceutical drug prices, hold companies accountable for the deadly opioid epidemic, protect tenants from exploitation, protect seniors from scams and abuse, help student borrowers, hold major corporations accountable for consumer fraud, and much more.
Most famously, Keith led the team that successfully convicted former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd.
WHY WE NEED YOU TO ACT:
Keith has been at the forefront of defending our collective rights and values, and now he needs our support. He is facing a vengeful campaign for his leadership in the George Floyd case that would severely undercut the march toward social justice should it be allowed to succeed. The GOP has fielded a candidate with ZERO experience as a prosecutor who has made proud promises to do away with many of the civil rights and consumer protections that Keith has fought to uphold.
Let there be no mistake about what is at stake in this election: This is a referendum on whether justice for Black people and accountability can become the norm or remain the exception in America. Furthermore, in the aftermath of Roe v. Wade getting overturned, attorney generals across the country have become even more critical in the fight to protect civil liberties and freedoms. This is why we are asking that you join us on November 6th for a nationwide Day of Action for Keith.
