Thank you from all of us at the National Constitution Center for being part of a transformative year for constitutional education. On September 17, Constitution Day, we launched the upgraded Interactive Constitution, which has become America’s leading platform for civic education and, with more than 30 million views, has made constitutioncenter.org America’s fifth most visited museum website. We also launched the onsite Constitutional Ambassadors program, and the online Classroom Exchanges which connect tens of thousands of students for conversations about the constitution moderated by judges and master teachers.

There’s so much work for us to do together to educate students in 2020, when we’ll focus on themes including women and the Constitution with the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. All of these initiatives provide teachers and students with the resources they need to educate themselves about the constitutional principles that unite us as Americans and that are crucial to securing the blessings of liberty and understanding for the next generation.

2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which

expanded the right to vote to women across the country. Among various programs and events celebrating this constitutional milestone, the Center will open a new exhibit in June on the development of the women’s rights movement and the ratification of a voting rights amendment in 1920.
