John, I’m Will Larkins, a 17 year old senior in high school from Florida, and I’m one of the student leaders fighting Florida’s Don’t Say Gay bill.

I’m reaching out because my friend, Maxwell Frost, needs our help to become the first Gen Z member of Congress in just 6 days.

Like Maxwell, I was thrown into activism and advocacy out of survival. Being outwardly gay and non-binary, I have faced bullying, harassment, discrimination, and threats to my safety almost my whole life.

I reported everything I experienced to the administration at my school and was met with only victim blaming and homophobia.

So we formed the Queer Student Union and went on to lead one of the biggest student walkouts in Florida’s history, where 500 students walked out of class chanting “we say gay” and “trans lives matter.”

We made national headlines and received an outpouring of support. Confirming what I always knew to be true – while conservatives like Ron DeSantis make desperate attempts to stop progress, we’re on the right side of history.

I stayed strong in the face of hate, using my activism in pursuit of equity and love within our communities – and I know that’s exactly what Maxwell will do in Congress.

I’m proud to support Maxwell Frost’s campaign in FL-10 because he’s a tireless fighter for equality, an LGBTQ+ ally, and the leader my generation needs in Congress.
