We’re
just one week away from Election Day 2022, John.
Yesterday might have been Halloween, but
here are a few scary numbers to share with you:

Over the last 20 years,
midterm election turnout runs on average 19% lower than
that of presidential years
(41.5% turnout during midterms compared to 60.5% for presidential
years).*

In the last midterm,
eligible voters aged 18-44 voted at a rate 11.7% lower
than the national average
(39.4% to 51.1%).*

Approximately 70% of
races that appeared on ballots in 2020 went uncontested, and that number goes up to nearly 75% of
all down-ballot races.*
These are
the symptoms of a broken system. When voters feel (rightly so!) that
there is no choice, or there are cumbersome barriers to doing one’s
civic duty, they decide not to participate at all. This
is why the work of the Forward Party is needed more now than ever
before.
The
Forward Party is dedicated to modernizing elections, engaging
communities historically left behind by the two parties, and injecting
competition into our democracy. This mission is already underway, and
our first test is next Tuesday.
We have a group of endorsed
candidates up and down ballots and are supporting ballot measures
across the country that need our help to succeed on Election Day. Will
