At the end of a long election season, I understand that you might be a little tired of emails like this one and the constant political drumbeat.

But I need to tell you, once again, that the midterms matter — and that the future of our nation is on the line.

One week from today, voting will end, and we’ll know where we stand: whether Democrats will continue to protect our fundamental rights, or if Republicans are set to gain even more power and take us backward.

Here in North Carolina, Republicans need to gain just three state House seats and two state Senate seats to hold veto-proof majorities. They would undo our progress on everything from expanding voting access to combating climate change and rolling back the fundamental right to reproductive choice.

We cannot afford to lose.

So, John, do what you can to help me deliver Democratic victories in North Carolina by chipping in any amount. Even $5 will go a long way.
