First and foremost, I want to thank you for being a part of this campaign – I mean it when I say that we can’t win this thing without you.

But folks, I’m coming to you with a bit of bad news: We missed our critical fundraising goal yesterday.

I won’t lie; this one stings. Missing any goal this close to Election Day really puts us in a vulnerable position heading into the final few days of this race.

If we’re going to overcome the GOP’s $40 million and defeat JD and his ultra-rich backers, we cannot afford to fall short. Our window is closing, but there’s still time to overcome our fundraising deficit. Can you help me out by splitting a contribution of $5 between me and Gary Peters ASAP?

National Republicans are pouring tens of millions of dollars into Ohio, trying to buy this Senate seat so that they can keep lining their pockets. They don’t give a damn about working families.

This race can go one of two ways: either we lose and hand over the Senate majority to McConnell, or we flip this seat, expand our majority and finally pass some legislation.

That all depends on you, folks.

If we can make up the difference in the next 24 hours, we can erase our deficit and get back on track. Can I count on you to step up and split a donation of $5 between my campaign and Gary Peters' now? I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important.
