The One-Minute Meeting
A new study by a pro-abortion group says there was a 6% drop in abortions nationwide since the Supreme Court’s ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade. Some states saw a dramatic increase in abortions while other states that banned or restricted abortions saw precipitous drops in since the ruling. I will show you state-by-state data from this preliminary study.
The Labor Department reports the unemployment rate today. After a couple of years of employers scrambling for workers, new job postings on leading job websites are declining. Unemployment is still low, and people are still quitting their current jobs at a higher-than-normal rate, but the data implies that in some sectors, especially tech-related hiring is cooling. Whether this means a contraction is coming or whether it is merely a retreat from too much optimism will reveal itself soon.
There is a global helium shortage. The shortage affects more than holiday parades and birthday balloons. Hospitals have been the largest users of helium, making up to 32% of the global market share in 2021. I will explain how helium is important to MRI exams.
