Dear Comrade
We hope you had a wonderful spooky season, and it was wonderful to see everyone at the general meeting on Wednesday! Check out the meeting minutes and stay involved. Tomorrow (Tuesday, 11/1, 8p), Haymarket Books will be hosting a Zoom where they talk to railroad workers about their current struggles (e.g.. terrible scheduling and no time off).
Akron City Council has moved up their
budgeting for the upcoming year, and it is now under debate; check out the
budget here: bit.ly/2023capitalbudget. Let your council members know that we need help with
housing and sustainability. All city planning needs to be evaluated with an eye to the future. You can
participate in the budget process by attending council (
meetings every Monday at 7p, 166 S High St, 3rd floor or participate online),
Also, stay engaged with the Abolition priority campaign with a meeting on Saturday (11/5, 10:30a), as well other meetings throughout the month of November (Links below). And in December, we are going to have a labor solidarity and social event where we once again meet Archie the Snowman (who is pro labor!).
