On Friday, Oct. 28, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich (R) issued an advisory opinion permitting counties to conduct hand count audits of ballots in this year’s elections. His advice contradicts guidance from Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D).

Today, the Arizona Alliance of Retired Americans and a Democratic voter filed a lawsuit against multiple county officials and election administrators in Cochise County, Arizona challenging the county’s plan to perform a hand count audit of all early ballots.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee filed a motion to intervene in a Republican lawsuit over the partisan affiliations of poll workers in Clark County, Nevada. The Democratic groups argue that Republicans are misapplying state law in the matter.

On Friday, Oct. 28, the Wisconsin Elections Commission withdrew its absentee ballot spoiling guidance that permitted voters to ask election officials to spoil (meaning discard and disqualify) their returned absentee ballots and receive new ones if they change their minds or opt to vote in person instead.
