Meeting and speaking with those who live and work in the Second District provides me a firsthand understanding of the issues affecting the many businesses, organizations, and individuals represented. I welcome the opportunity to listen to your needs and concerns, and my offices and I stand ready to help.

Whether in our Washington, Midlands, or Aiken/Barnwell offices, we want to hear from you, and our goals are to provide support however possible, whether it is an individual concern, or the issues are more broadly inclusive.

Bidenflation is a Tax on All Americans

This year inflation reached its highest level in over 40 years, yet by passing the Inflation ‘Expansion’ Act, Biden and the Democrats are further plunging American families into debt.

Signed into law by Biden in August, the Congressional Budget Office reports it will increase the deficit through 2026 and cost working families an additional $60 billion dollars, destroying jobs.

Unfortunately, families are already paying a devastating 13 percent more at the grocery store versus last year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This translates into a 31 percent rise in the cost of eggs, a 15 percent rise in the cost of milk, and a more than 14 percent rise in the cost of bread, just to name a few.

As of September, prices have surged 13 percent, as compared to when Biden took office. Sadly, wages have only risen 8 percent over the same period. The inflation crisis and higher interest rates have cost the average American worker over $4,000 in annual income, according to a Heritage Foundation expert in economics. Bidenflation is a tax on all Americans.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of South Carolina’s Second District and will keep fighting for responsible and accountable government on behalf of South Carolinians and all Americans.
