Saturday, Nov. 5, 2pm to 4pm United Democrats of El Dorado County Dr. Kermit Jones - Meet & greet Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, 2pm to 4pm El Dorado Hills Hello John, Hope you've been well! We wanted to reach out personally to invite you to a meet & greet fundraiser in El Dorado Hills being hosted by David Larson. The EDC Democratic Party, Democratic Women of El Dorado County, and the United Democrats are co-hosting this event on Saturday, November 5th at 2pm benefitting the campaign of our good friend Dr. Kermit Jones, the doctor and Navy veteran running for Congress here in California's toss-up 3rd district. Can we count on you to attend the event on Saturday? Invitation and more details below. If you can't make it, Dr. Kermit would be honored to count on your contribution towards the event: secure.actblue.com/donate/221105larson. Anything you can spare makes a big difference in this crucial race, as voting has begun and the campaign needs to continue communicating with voters here in these crucial last days of the campaign. Kermit has built incredible momentum in this pivotal race, highlighted by his team knocking over 130,000 doors, their recent endorsements from Planned Parenthood Action and NARAL Pro-Choice, and their addition to the DCCC's Red-to-Blue list! This major boost is going only to the most competitive campaigns this cycle, and it validates the incredible work they've done. But with ballots out and voting already happening, this is the most important moment of Kermit's campaign. The national party has taken notice of Kermit's extraordinary progress, and they believe he can flip this seat and defend the vulnerable House majority, but not without your support. Ballots have dropped and he needs all the support he can get to be able to stay on TV (see his first ad here!) and get his message out in this massive battleground district. As a doctor and Navy veteran, Kermit's life has been guided by a series of oaths – to his patients and to our country. Now, he's continuing his life of public service and running a substantive, issue oriented campaign focused on a federal fire insurance plan (the largest fire in California this year hit this district), protecting women's medical and privacy rights, and the most comprehensive healthcare plan ever put out by a Congressional campaign. Kermit's opponent is Trump-endorsed Assemblyman Kevin Kiley, a perennial candidate who’s run for 6 offices in 6 years. Kiley voted against a firearm ban in schools, supported the Big Lie, and rallied with insurrectionists, Qanon supporters, and ACTUAL NAZIS. In May, Kiley was asked about the 2020 election’s legitimacy and said “Well, it depends what you mean by legitimate." He even voted to allow employers to retaliate against employees who have abortions, use birth control, or have premarital sex, and he’s opposed to abortion even in the case of rape or incest. If elected, Kiley will be an automatic vote for a federal abortion ban. We simply cannot afford another MAGA-endorsed, militia-aligned, anti-woman member of Congress. Kermit has earned endorsements from a wide range of organizations, including the League of Conservation Voters, 314, Win the Era, SEIU California, and End Citizens United. You can see all of his endorsements here. Polling shows that Kermit's profile as a doctor and Navy veteran who grew up on a family farm resonates strongly with voters, and this is expected to be one of the two closest races in California, a key midterm battleground. In fact, this will likely be one of the few opportunities nationally to flip a red district (Trump only won this district by 1.8%), and even Fox News categorized this race as "very competitive." Once voters learn more about Kermit, he moves into a one-point lead against Kiley, and he just out-raised Kiley for the second straight quarter! If Kermit has the resources he needs to reach as many voters as possible, he WILL win! And with you on his team, we couldn't be more confident. Thanks so much for your consideration, and we hope to see you on Saturday! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to any of us or to Matt [email protected].
