Happy Halloween, John! It's Christina, Trudy's daughter. As a mother myself, my Halloweens these days are all about my kids: picking out costumes, carving pumpkins, and, of course, trick-or-treating.
But today, I wanted to share a memory from one of my first Halloweens. (I promise this is related to my mom's campaign, just bear with me for a moment!)
I remember my friends dressing up as heroes from comic books and movies, but, for me, the strongest hero of all has always been my mom.
As a nurse, my mom cared for patients and their families with tenderness, skill, and a listening ear. She brought comfort to people going through incredibly difficult, painful moments. My mom worked long shifts and tough hours to make people's lives even just a little bit better – however and whenever she could. And even from a young age, I recognized that's what a real-life hero looks like.
That's why I know that my mom is going to be such an honest, effective, and compassionate senator. Washington needs a nurse's heart and a nurse's mind. But more than anything else, Washington needs my mom. She'll put people before politics every single time.
I know that my mom has what it takes to flip Missouri blue and bring compassion to Washington. But she can't win this tough race without support from people like you. So please, before logging off to enjoy the Halloween festivities, will you make a donation to send a real-life superhero to Washington? There are just eight days until the election, so your support tonight would mean so much to my mom and me.
