The U.S. Census Bureau today released new tables from the 2020 and 2021 Current Population Survey (CPS) Annual Social and Economic Supplement.
These tables provide information on marital status, educational attainment, employment status, occupation, earnings and other social and economic statistics by:
Age and sex in 2020 and 2021. Hispanic origin in 2020 and 2021. Asian alone in 2020 and 2021. Asian alone-or-in-combination in 2020 and 2021. Black alone in 2020 and 2021. Black alone-or-in-combination in 2020 and 2021. Older populations in 2020 and 2021. Foreign-born populations in 2020 and 2021.
Census Bureau Releases Map Illustrating 2020 Census Operational Quality Metrics for Counties and Tracts
Today, the U.S. Census Bureau released the 2020 Census Quality Metrics Viewer. This map provides a visual tool for exploring the recently released operational quality metrics for counties and census tracts. The metrics show how the 2020 Census collected data within the counties and census tracts and can provide insight on the quality of the census.
Business Trends and Outlook Survey Data Release
On October 27, the U.S. Census Bureau released data from the Business Trends and Outlook Survey (BTOS), a survey that measures business conditions on an ongoing basis. The BTOS is the successor to the Small Business Pulse Survey (SBPS), a high-frequency survey that measured the effect of changing business conditions during the coronavirus pandemic and other major events like hurricanes on our nationās small businesses.
The BTOS increases the scope of the SBPS to include large single-location employer businesses (those with 500 or more employees). It provides insight into the state of the economy by providing continuous, timely data for key economic measures every two weeks.
Last week, the U.S. Census Bureau released new data from phase 3.6 of the experimental Household Pulse Survey (HPS). The HPS is an effort by the Census Bureau and other federal statistical agencies to provide near real-time data on how the COVID-19 pandemic, and changes in social and economic conditions are affecting peopleās lives to inform federal and state response and recovery planning.
Phase 3.6 includes new and updated questions. Some previously asked questions have been removed.
