John: today the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in two cases that could upend affirmative action.

Trump's justices act an extension of the Republican party and we can't trust them to rule with impartiality. The best solution we have to protect our rights and our democracy is to add four seats to the Supreme Court and restore balance and legitimacy to the bench. Sign the petition we're sending to Democrats in Congress to urge them to take immediate action to pass the Judiciary Act and expand the Court.

The Supreme Court has, for four decades, upheld the right of colleges and universities to use race as one of the many factors they consider in their admissions decisions in order to ensure a diverse student body. Such affirmative action and diversity programs in colleges and universities have been essential to expanding opportunities to all communities and ensuring a rich diversity of experience for all students. But this year, the conservative supermajority on the Supreme Court could end affirmative action in higher education, stripping schools of the ability to increase diversity on campus. The Court’s ruling could have immediate and devastating effects in education and beyond.

And let's be clear: Right-wing extremists like Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump built this Supreme Court to carry out their agenda, and we're seeing it play out in front of our very eyes.

Congress can and must intervene immediately. The clearest solution we have to protect our rights from this illegitimate Court is to end the filibuster and pass the Judiciary Act which will add four seats to the Supreme Court.

Sign the petition if you agree: Tell Congress to expand the Court.

Demand Justice is leading the fight to #ExpandTheCourt. With a Democratic majority in both the House and the Senate, we can add four seats to the Supreme Court and confirm justices who will safeguard our democracy and our rights.
