Skagit County Transfer Station Closed to Self-Haul Garbage Drop-off on October 31

Due to capacity issues, the Skagit County Transfer Station at 14104 Ovenell Road, Mount Vernon is closed to garbage drop-off on Monday, October 31, 2022 to all self-haulers, until further notice.

?Our transfer station floor is at capacity and unfortunately we cannot safely accept garbage from self-haulers at this time,? says Margo Gillaspy, the Solid Waste Division Manager for Skagit County. ?We apologize for the closure and are working to reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.?

Skagit County solid waste staff ask that customers hold on to their garbage until the transfer station reopens. Skagit County anticipates reopening in a day or two and asks that people check the website [ [link removed] ] or call the transfer station at (360) 416-1570 for updates.
