Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, Stephen Miller, and Kevin McCarthy. Those are just some of the far-right figures who have come out of Southern California.

We all hoped that we’d buried Southern California’s dark Republican past in 2018, when Katie Porter led progressives in taking every seat in Orange County.

But, Friend, recent polling suggests that Southern California Republicanism is alive and well -- and this time it’s Trumpier than ever. Now we’re not only at risk of losing Porter’s seat, but the 45th and 49th districts as well.

We have just a few days to make sure Katie Porter doesn't lose. Unlike the DCCC, we are focusing on Orange County, and we need your help. Will you chip in?

The Cook Political Report has given Katie Porter a razor-thin three-point lead over Scott Baugh, a former O.C. assemblymember who wants to ban same-sex marriage, force people to give birth, and defund social security.

And since 2020, Trump-endorsed Republicans have already won back two of the O.C.’s seven congressional seats.(1)

If we lose Katie Porter, Democrats will lose their House majority. We cannot let that happen.

That's why Courage California has invested in sophisticated polling methods to develop the precise messages that will maximize turnout in Rep. Porter’s and other key multicultural districts. Now we just need to get the message out.

There are more swing House districts here in California than anywhere else in the country.(2) This means that maximizing Democratic wins here is essential to offset any potential losses in battleground states like Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina.

If we can’t hold the line here in California, America loses any hope of codifying abortion and same-sex marriage rights, passing the Dream Act, or taking federal action against climate change.
