Health care at the forefront of Michigan’s 1st District race between Bergman and Lorinser

The sheer physical distance between people and the resources they need can sometimes lead to life-or-death situations.

I said,

• We need a “global, comprehensive plan for rural health care in the United States.” 

• I will “work to set federal standards for things like ambulance response time I will advocate for increased funding for services and to create a pipeline of professionals to staff rural communities.

• I support a universal health care plan and expansions to Medicare and Medicaid.

My opponent  said, 

• People are more concerned about  gas to get to their health care provider than they are about health care itself.

• Make access easier by limiting federal bureaucracy and  “stay out of the way of Michigan.”

• He  highlighted his efforts in Congress to protect people with pre-existing conditions — but he voted against it

Look at the differences.

Vote for the person that represents you and your family.
 

We need much more

• Saving and improve our rural hospitals

• EMS for accidents, heart attacks, and strokes

• Primary providers in our communities
