I’m reaching out myself before tonight’s deadline because we need your support to accomplish something historic. In this campaign, we are challenging all of the conventional wisdom with a campaign for U.S. Senate unlike North Carolina has ever seen before.

Some folks questioned me when I said we couldn’t settle for the old playbook. We’ve seen too many campaigns come up short in North Carolina because of it.

But that’s never stopped me before. When my very first opponent tried to tell people that a mom like me couldn’t win, I grabbed the diaper bag and a stroller to go door-to-door with my twin boys, and I won — by over 30 points. I continued to serve the people as judge and eventually Chief Justice, and along the way, I proved I can win statewide — twice in fact.

Once again, our bet of trying something new is paying off in big ways. Poll after poll shows us in a dead heat, despite super PACs rushing in with tens of millions of dollars in this final stretch to try to blunt my momentum and hold this seat.

But now this race is coming down to the wire, and unfortunately, we’re still coming up short of our goal for tonight’s final end-of-month deadline. So we need people like you with us to get across the finish line.

And look, I don’t expect you to give every time we ask. What I’m counting on is that folks like you will donate when it makes sense for your budget.
