John, it's Sen. Gary Peters. If you’re anything like me, you’re getting a flood of political emails this time of year – but could I have just a minute of your time to talk about a race that could affect the entire country?

Right here in my home state of Michigan, Hillary Scholten is fighting to flip our 3rd Congressional District BLUE and become the first Democratic woman to represent West Michigan in Congress.

This critical race could determine control of the House. So please, John, will you help us flip this seat blue by splitting a contribution with Hillary’s campaign today?

The stakes couldn't be higher. If Republicans take back control of the House, we'll lose all the progress we’ve made to lower prescription drug prices, reduce inflation, support working families, and more.

But I’ll be honest, John: The math isn’t in our favor this year. Republicans only need to flip FOUR seats to take back control of the House. That means it’s not enough to hold the seats we have; we must also flip districts from RED to BLUE wherever we can – and that starts right here in Michigan.

The Cook Political Report is saying this race is "LEAN DEMOCRATIC," but past elections have taught us we can't take ANYTHING for granted. That means it’s up to grassroots supporters to ensure that Hillary has the resources to compete with GOP spending, reach every voter, and flip this seat BLUE.

That's why I'm personally asking: With just 8 days until Election Day, will you rush a split contribution of $10 or whatever you can spare right now to defend our Democratic majority and send Hillary to Washington?
