Chances are very good that you – or someone you know – has had to make difficult choices about child care or preschool while raising young kids. These days it’s increasingly difficult to find affordable, high-quality care.

As a dad to three great kids, I know that moms and dads are their kid’s first and best teachers. But with 66% of young children living with working parents, access to child care and preschool is critical for millions of parents throughout the country.

And, when parents can’t find quality care for their kids, their kids can fall behind their peers – and never catch up.

Save the Children Action Network (SCAN) has been making the case to Congress since our founding that we need to invest in the educational development of kids throughout the country, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

This year alone we’ve:

• Sent more than 800,000 messages to Congress from supporters like you calling for expanded funding for early learning and child care programs.
• Trained volunteers and student activists to help lead more than 212 visits with state and congressional lawmakers to make the case for kids. 
• Organized 250 activities and events that have educated over 47,000 individuals.

But, we need your help today to expand this work in 2020.
