Dear Georgian,

Congratulations to the Georgia Bulldogs for beating the Gators! GO DAWGS!

I join the rest of the Georgia Bulldogs in mourning the loss of Coach Vince Dooley. Coach Dooley led the dawgs to six SEC championships and a national championship in 1980 during his legendary career. Vivien and I are praying for the Dooley family at this time.

I was also saddened to learn of the untimely passing of former Secretary of Defense Ash Carter last week. He was a patriot who served our nation in many positions in the Pentagon, culminating as our 25th Secretary of Defense. My sincere condolences to his wife and children for their loss.

As the only Georgian serving on a Congressional defense committee this Congress, I make it a priority to visit Robins and Moody Air Force Bases often. You can read more about my recent visits below:

Visiting Moody Air Force Base

Early last week, I had the pleasure of meeting with leadership from the 23rd Wing and 93rd Air Ground Operations Wing at Moody Air Force Base. I especially enjoyed time in the dining facility listening to our fine Airmen as they shared their thoughts about what Congress can do to improve the quality of life at Moody. Thank you for your service and hospitality!

Hosting HASC Ranking Member Rogers at Robins AFB

It’s an honor to serve on the House Armed Services Committee (HASC), but it is an even greater honor to represent the men and women at Robins Air Force Base. I invited HASC’s Ranking Member Rep. Mike Rogers from Alabama to visit Robins and have a roundtable discussion with leadership about the invaluable workload that is done right here in Middle Georgia for our world class Airmen, as well as the Georgia Air National Guard and their mission set post JSTARS. As we prepare for the 118th Congress, I will ensure that the interests of Robins are well represented on HASC.

Wishing Major General Tanya Kubinec a Great Retirement

On Friday, I attended the retirement ceremony for Major General Tanya Kubinec at Robins Air Force Base. Our district and nation are grateful for her many years of service in the U.S. Air Force.

I want to also thank Major General Kubinec's husband, Brigadier General John Kubinec, for his service and their daughter Hanna, who sang the National Anthem during the ceremony to celebrate her mother.

CNS News | Rep. McCaul: Russia, China … ‘Yet This Administration is Focused On Funding Drag Shows in Ecuador?’

"The senior Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee asked the State Department Tuesday to provide the panel with information on a $20,600 grant awarded to a non-profit organization in Ecuador to run '12 drag theater performances,' to promote 'diversity and inclusion.'

'This award raises significant questions about the department’s grant-making decisions and the Biden administration’s overall views of U.S. foreign policy objectives in the region,' Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) wrote in a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

'It is difficult to imagine how the department determined that funding ‘drag theater performances’ would be a worthwhile use of taxpayer dollars.'”
