Paula is now the Executive Director of Hope After Rape Conception, a non-profit that assists mothers from rape and their children.

Paula says: "We all make choices every day. You don’t need to choose to kill other people to be happy or to have freedom or to be empowered. We can be empowered by taking the life we’ve been given and choosing the right path forward."

John, in your fight against abortion, you might hear people argue that abortion should be allowed in cases of rape. When you encounter that argument, share this video with them. 

Rape is a horrific violation of dignity. Each victim deserves compassion and healing, and every rapist must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. 

As Paula’s story shows, killing the child who came to be from such an act provides neither healing for the victim nor accountability for the perpetrator.

An act of killing on top of a violent act only brings about more trauma, but embracing that new life can bring healing and an expansion of love.
