Earlier this month, a Palestinian terrorist shot and killed an 18-year-old Israeli military police officer in Jerusalem.
The attack comes amid a dramatic and deadly rise in Palestinian terrorism.
The Palestinian Authority has lost control in several major cities in the West Bank, allowing terror groups to take over. And the situation is only getting worse.
The PA must clamp down on rising radicalization and enhance its cooperation with Israeli security forces to combat terror.
Last spring, a series of brutal terrorist attacks killed 19 innocent Israelis.
There were 212 terror attacks in September alone and more than one shooting attack PER DAY.
Palestinian terrorists have used 139 Molotov cocktails and planned 53 pipe bomb attacks. Every single day, Israelis are forced to live with this threat.
The annual $3.3 billion in critical American security aid to Israel, as well as $500 million for lifesaving missile defense programs like Iron Dome, doesn’t happen without our efforts.
America must continue to support our ally Israel as it works to protect its citizens from terror attacks.
The U.S. must pressure the Palestinian Authority to end its political posturing, increase security cooperation with Israel and take decisive actions against terrorism in the West Bank.
AIPAC is working every day to advocate for all this, and much more.
Sincerely,
Brian Shankman
Chief Strategy Director for National Affairs
