Thanks to the hard work of advocates like you, The Jackie Walorski Maternal and Child Home Visiting Reauthorization Act (H.R. 8876) is gaining momentum in the U.S. House of Representatives! Now is the time to make a final push for support from your members of Congress by asking them to sign on as co-sponsors to this critical piece of legislation. |
The Jackie Walorski Maternal and Child Home Visiting Reauthorization Act renews essential federal funding for the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program, which serves over 140,000 families and children in 1,054 counties across the country. This legislation represents a renewed and expanded commitment to MIECHV programs nationwide, which will allow home visitors to continue their work with parents to build strong relationships with their newborn and provide critical support during a child’s first five years of life.
To demonstrate strong bipartisan support for this important work, Start Early and its partners are working to gain as many co-sponsors as possible for H.R. 8876. Write to your representatives today and urge them to become a co-sponsor prior to the November 4 deadline. |
