Hi Friend, Did you know that Nevadans can register to vote AND vote on the same day? That’s right, YOU CAN! With Same Day Registration, Nevadans can register to vote and cast their ballot, at in-person polling location within the county they reside in, during Early Voting or on Election Day. Voters can participate in Same Day Registration during the Primary or General Election! The key to Same Day Registration is a current, valid Nevada DMV issued ID, during the registration process. Acceptable forms of identification are: your driver’s license, state ID card, or interim document. Friend, if the address on your ID isn’t where you currently live and you want to do Same Day Registration, bring your ID AND a paystub, car registration, utility bill, mortgage statement, or lease agreement.
Also, did you know that the Nevada DMV is allowing new residents to transfer their out-of-state driver's license or ID and register to vote WITHOUT an appointment? That's right! You can walk-in from 8:30am - 11:30am until Election Day (11/8)! Remember, Nevada is a signature verification state, NOT a voter ID state. That means, generally, Nevadans do not have to show an ID because we verify our identity with our signature! BUT there’s three instances where a voter might be asked to show their ID:
Friend, if you have any questions about Same Day Registration, check out VoteSmartNV.org! If for some reason, someone asks to see your ID, report it immediately to the Nevada nonpartisan Election Protection Hotline:
