They say you remember exactly where you were when big moments in your life happen. And I remember election day 2016 like it was yesterday. The election wasn’t just a contest that year. It was personal. And it was heartbreaking.

I told myself that day that if I didn’t gather up every ounce of disappointment and fear that I had and channel it toward rebuilding a Democratic party that was so devastated and broken, I would never forgive myself. And I knew I wanted to double down on winning in 2020! [[link removed]]

Today, we are weeks away from the Iowa caucuses -- the first of many contests that will determine whether Donald Trump wins or loses in November. Believe me when I say, it still hurts. But I’m more hopeful than I’ve ever been before that we can win and defeat Donald Trump.

Because when I look up from my phone and computer; when I put aside the infighting, the Tweets, and the reports of Donald Trump and his buddies stockpiling over $300 million to defeat his Democratic opponent, I see… hope. I see change. I see my team members working around the clock to elect a leader who can pick up the pieces after a Donald Trump presidency.
