When her email hit my inbox, I stopped working to read through the entire thing – and then I read it again. You see, like Trudy, I was born and raised here. This state has given me so much in life – friends, community, a top-notch education, a supportive hometown, and, of course, real Missouri values. 

That's why it has been painful to see the Show Me State gain national attention for all the ways that our leaders are failing families here: our staggering rates of opioid overdoses, our increasingly extreme abortion mandates, and our leaders undermining democracy at every turn.

We need leaders who know Missouri, who love Missouri, and who are truly committed to serving Missouri families. Leaders like that don't come along often. But when they do, you have to throw everything you've got behind them. That's why I put my life on hold to run this campaign full-time – even after I promised myself I would sit this election cycle out.

You see, I know that Trudy is the leader Missourians deserve – and I know that this is the year that we're finally going to flip this seat blue. But we can only defeat Eric Schmitt and his megadonors if folks like you give this race everything you've got in these last 9 days before the election. John, for four generations my family has called Missouri our home. I was born here, I grew up here, I raised my kids here, and I served my community as a nurse and advocate here. Now, I'm about to ask you to make an investment in the future of this beautiful state. Can you give me a minute to explain why?

After spending my entire life in this state, I can say this with my whole heart: I love Missouri.

The deep forests of the Ozarks in the south, the bountiful plains up north that stretch on endlessly and feed our families, the great Missouri River that runs through our state – Missouri is, without a doubt, absolutely beautiful. But the real reason I'll always call the Show Me State home is the vibrant, diverse communities who also call her home.

Whether in our great cities like St. Louis, Kansas City, and Jefferson City or the tight-knit rural towns like Chillicothe and St. James that dot our state, the people here are one of a kind.

Missourians are bold, fiercely independent, and deeply loyal (especially to our baseball teams). As our Show Me State nickname implies, we have a healthy level of skepticism, and we refuse to tolerate any nonsense. But more than anything else, we will do anything to defend those we love.

I love Missouri and the families within, and it's been the honor of a lifetime to serve them as a nurse, volunteer, and advocate. But it breaks my heart to watch this state be sold out for a fat check from corporate lobbyists, to watch our values be tossed aside in favor of personal ambition, and to see our leaders choose partisanship over people. We deserve so much better. That's why I'm running for Senate – to give families the leadership that embodies true Missouri values: integrity, independence, and compassion.

I promise you that I'm in this race for the right reasons, and you have my word that I'll deliver real change for your family in Washington. But I can't beat my MAGA opponent without your help. So please, John, with just days until the election, I'm personally asking: Will you invest in a better, brighter future, for Missouri and our whole country? I know that Missouri is ready to flip blue – but to win on Election Day, I am counting on your help.
