EDF members like you make major climate successes possible. In the last year alone:

• After months of negotiations and EDF working tirelessly with key Senate offices, Congress passed the most ambitious federal climate legislation in U.S. history. The Inflation Reduction Act allocates $369 billion to protect our climate and reduce pollution by investing in clean energy and electric vehicles.
• EPA set new clean car standards, which will slash over 3 billion tons of tailpipe pollution by 2050. EDF continues to work with automakers, labor unions and regulators to drive the clean car revolution.
• After over 20 years of consulting with EDF experts, China launched the world’s largest carbon trading market, a significant step to help the country achieve carbon neutrality before 2060.
• LEAF (Lowering Emissions by Accelerating Forest finance), an EDF-backed effort that aims to save large-scale tropical forests and help the Indigenous people who defend them, mobilized an initial $1 billion, with much more to come.
• Research led by EDF concludes that concerted global action, using existing technologies, could cut methane pollution in half by 2030 and slow the rate of global warming by as much as 30%. At COP26 — the United Nations climate talks in Glasgow, Scotland — more than 100 countries joined the Global Methane Pledge.
