Yesterday we announced that our team outraised my opponent by a 2-to-1 margin, $185,000 to $94,000. 97% of my donors are from right here in Minnesota.
Most importantly, I want to say thank you. We worked so hard for this fundraising haul and we couldn't have done it without you.
But here's the truth: An outside group has spent over $125,000 supporting Mary Moriarty and attacking me. One of its biggest donors is another outside group called Movement Voter PAC Minnesota – yet less than 0.4% of their donors actually live in Minnesota.
Before they invested in discrediting my record and what I stand for, Movement Voter PAC Minnesota spent $250,000 supporting the failed ballot initiative to eliminate the Minneapolis Police Department in 2021.
We know this race is dead even. The next Hennepin County Attorney could be decided by a couple hundred of votes.
I don't have a swath of out-of-state megadonors dumping egregious amounts of money into this race to support me or attack my opponent – nor do I want that.
