Friend, it’s Emma Schimley, Digital Media Strategist here at DAGA.
Hey, you know what’s really scary? And no, I’m not referring to our colleague Geoff dressing up like a ghost and getting to the office extra early the other morning to scare Peter and me at our desks.
What’s really scary is the threat that Republican AGs and candidates pose to our livelihoods and our rights. Between Abe Hamadeh’s repeated efforts to undermine democracy in Arizona, to the wild anti-abortion rhetoric we’re hearing from Ken Paxton in Texas, the concerted and ongoing effort to threaten the right to vote and the right to choose, is terrifying. But here’s the good news, we can stop them.
There’s unfortunately no way to prevent your Communications Director from waking up at 6 AM and getting to the office an hour early to wait behind your desk so he can jump out and yell, “I’m the ghost of Ken Paxton’s integrity!” at you before you’ve even had your coffee.
But there *is* a defense for the rampant threats that Republican AGs continue to make against our democratic system and the most vulnerable members of our country: It’s voting for Democratic AGs.
